"Jeunesse Idem"

The commission adopted the agenda with two additions: an announcement regarding the 30th anniversary of Jeunesse Idem and the School Perseverance Days campaign.

The organization Jeunesse Idem presented its mission to support LGBTQIA2+ youth aged 7 to 35. The discussion highlighted the prevalence of homophobia and transphobia in schools and the need for mandatory awareness training and stronger institutional support.

The Commission discussed upcoming events including the IDEM Youth Gala, Black History Month, and School Perseverance Week. Members also discussed the role of student parliaments and how to improve communication between those bodies and the Youth Commission.

Council proclaimed May 17 as the 'International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia' and authorized the flying of the 'Progress' flag at the Maison du citoyen to show support for LGBTQIA2+ communities.

The Commission received training from the organization Jeunesse Idem on sexual diversity and gender plurality. The session covered terminology, best practices, inclusive language, and intersectionality to help members better understand and support these issues.

The commission will participate in a BBQ event organized by Jeunesse Idem on May 15th. Several members volunteered to co-host the event and manage a booth.
