The objectives of the presentation are to inform members about the progress of the land use plan monitoring project and to obtain their comments on the proposed indicators and dissemination tool.

Members were briefed on the new political and legislative framework aimed at implementing a monitoring system that will allow for tracking the achievement of land use planning objectives using indicators and targets. The ministère des Affaires municipales et de l’Habitation has identified seven strategic indicators that allow for tracking the evolution of the territory in space and time as well as evaluating the effectiveness of the plan. Initial indicators were briefly analyzed based on certain criteria that allow for the identification of their strengths, weaknesses, and points of vigilance.

Members were informed and invited to comment on the proposed dissemination tool as well as the next steps for the implementation of the monitoring. Members were briefed on the interactive platform that will allow for tracking the evolution of the indicators. It will be accessible via the website starting next autumn. Clarifying questions and comments were made regarding the use of the indicators and how they will be useful.

Nicolas Brisson left the meeting at 4:44 p.m.

In summary, the members agree that this tool will greatly facilitate decision-making. The members acknowledge and congratulate Josée Lévesque and her team for the work accomplished.

Members were informed of the steps for developing the commissions' work plans. The objective is to obtain a recommendation from the Commission for the adoption of the Commission's work plan, which is scheduled for March 19, 2024. Members asked clarifying questions regarding certain files included in the work plan as well as the role and contribution of the Commission.

In summary, members wish to be informed of the progress of certain files, without necessarily requiring detailed presentations, such as the affordable housing strategy, the monitoring of the land use and development plan, and the special urban planning programs (PPU). It was suggested to add a statutory item for the aforementioned files to each Commission meeting.

It was mentioned that certain grammatical corrections will be made. Considering that the modifications to be made do not change the content of the work plan:
