Council will participate in the election process for the Board of Directors of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) for the 2026-2028 term.

Council supported Councillor Tiffany-Lee Norris Parent's candidacy for the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Board of Directors for the 2026-2028 term and authorized the coverage of her participation costs.

The committee will hold an election to fill positions within its internal structure.

Desmond was elected to the internal committee, which streamlines decision-making for the Youth Commission, including the selection of new members.

Council authorized a tripartite agreement with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing and Élections Québec to participate in a pilot project. This project will create a web portal to provide voters with information and photos of candidates for the November 2, 2025, municipal election.

The committee recommended that Council approve a budget of $2,838,350 for the 2025 municipal election. This includes funding from the 2025 budget, the 2024 surplus, and the election reserve, as well as the adoption of a remuneration schedule for election staff.

Information was provided regarding the upcoming co-chair elections in June, including roles, responsibilities, and the application process.

Rosalie Bureau was elected as the new co-chair of the Youth Commission.

The internal committee was elected, consisting of four members.

Maika Gangur and Rosalie Bureau announced their intention to run for co-chair of the Youth Commission. The vote will take place during the June meeting.

The commission outlined the process for electing new co-chairs. Interested members must submit their CVs in May, with elections scheduled for June.
