5. Aire Ouverte: Citizen exchange: youth speak out

Exchange between two engaged teen committees. A presentation regarding the Aire Ouverte service for youth aged 12 to 25 and their loved ones is given. Each Aire Ouverte was developed with the participation of youth to offer flexible services adapted to their reality and to meet their needs. It is mentioned that it is possible to obtain meetings with a professional in person, by phone, or virtually, regarding concerns related to physical health, mental health, sexual health, addictions, and the transition to adult life. The schedules and operation of the service are explained.

A youth committee, consisting of people between 12 and 25 years old with significant lived experience and/or interest in the helping relationship, has been formed. The mandate and the role of the committee are presented.

Ihsan Idris Nour leaves the meeting at 2:00 p.m. An exchange on youth involvement as well as the challenges encountered is held between the two youth committees.

6. Follow-up to the May 25, 2025 work session on the integrated policy of the Recreation Department - Decision

The objectives of the presentation are to present the results of the consultation during the work session that took place on May 25, 2025, and to issue a recommendation to the municipal council for the adoption of the Politique intégrée du Service des loisirs, des sports et du développement des communautés (Integrated Policy of the Recreation, Sports, and Community Development Department). The recommendations read as follows:

CJ-2025-05 Adopt the Politique intégrée des loisirs, des sports et du développement des communautés of the City of Gatineau, aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens.

CJ-2025-06 Mandate the Recreation, Sports, and Community Development Department to continue the creation of the frameworks and action plans that will result from it.

7.1 C’est parti, je vote !

The 4th edition of the "C’est parti, je vote !" (Let's go, I'm voting!) program is presented. It is a citizen electoral simulation organized in 12 high schools in Gatineau. The new features of this edition as well as the role of the Commission are explained.

7.2 Return on the analysis of the Youth Summit and next steps for the development of the action plan

A presentation dealing with the Youth Commission, the results of the Youth Summit, and the next steps for the development of the action plan: municipal youth action strategy, is given.

7.3 Launch of the adogatineau.ca project - Youth Secretariat

The launch of the capsules will take place at the end of September. They will be launched at various times throughout the year. A social media campaign, cinema capsules, and television spots will be at the forefront.

7.4 Change of school for a member

Announcement that a member of the group has changed schools since September. The internal committee has gathered and will present the procedure as well as their conclusion in a closed session.
