Rejection of tender 2026 SP 159 - Transport and disposal of clean Type A soil

CONSIDERING THAT the Service de l’approvisionnement responsable launched a public call for tenders on May 7, 2026, for the service of transport and disposal of clean Type A soil for the Service des travaux publics of the Ville de Gatineau;

CONSIDERING THAT the most recent operational data allowed for a re-evaluation of the anticipated quantities of Type A soil and demonstrates that the assumptions used to establish the estimated volumes in the tender documents no longer adequately reflect the current needs of the City, making a revision of the estimate and the envisaged procurement strategy necessary;

CONSIDERING THAT in accordance with section 3.1 "Adjudication of the contract" of the General Specifications, the Ville de Gatineau does not commit to accepting the lowest or any of the bids received;

CONSIDERING THAT section 60 of Règlement numéro 14-2001 concerning the internal management of the council, commissions, and the plenary committee as well as the division of functions between the council and the executive committee, as amended, grants the executive committee the power to award any contract subject to the tender procedure;

CONSIDERING THAT it is therefore appropriate that the position of the City be expressed by this committee, the competent and decision-making authority regarding calls for tenders and the awarding of contracts that may result therefrom:

PROPOSED AND UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED THAT this committee rejects the bids received in the context of call for tenders 2026 SP 159 and authorizes the Service de l’approvisionnement responsable to launch a new call for tenders at the appropriate time after having modified the documents.
