CONSIDERING THAT the Ville de Gatineau recognizes the central role of non-profit organizations (NPOs) in implementing local strategies aimed at promoting sustainable residual materials management practices;

CONSIDERING THAT several NPOs in the Ville de Gatineau territory carry out major activities related to source reduction, reuse, and ISÉ;

CONSIDERING THAT these NPOs contribute to reducing the waste sent to landfill by Gatineau citizens and therefore the collection, transport, and landfill costs for the City;

CONSIDERING THAT a financial support program for NPOs was developed by the Service de l’eau et des matières résiduelles to support the financial stability and growth of NPOs in the Gatineau territory by providing them with dedicated funding for their initiatives related to residual materials management;

CONSIDERING THAT a guide including eligibility criteria, funding terms, and submission procedures for applications was drafted and published on the City's website to guide organizations interested in the financial support program, and that an information session was held on March 26, 2025;

CONSIDERING THAT 12 organizations submitted an application under the financial support program, and that 10 of these applications were deemed eligible after analysis according to the criteria and weighting established in the program guide;

CONSIDERING THAT, in accordance with the recommendations of the Evaluation Committee, a total amount of $122,400 will be granted to eligible organizations to support the implementation of their initiatives in sustainable residual materials management:
